Why Driving Licence Checks Matter

A key part of any health and safety policy at companies where drivers regularly drive on business is the regular checking of driving licences to ensure that drivers are eligible to drive the class of vehicle they have been allocated.

Over 14,500 drivers were caught last year without a valid driving licence (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency 2016)

Although the onus is on the driver to ensure they have the correct driving licence in place at the time, if the necessary checks are not in place companies are severely exposed to legal action through negligence.
